MAC up the amp, dubonnet and rebel lipstick review

These are my three favourite darker shades of lipstick by MAC. Up the amp (amplified finish) Dubonnet (amplified finish) and Rebel (satin finish).
Up the amp is a great colour that i think can be worn in the day and for a night out. For the day time i somtimes combine it with a nude lipstick as this helps to lighten it and tone it down slightly for the day. The texture of the lipstick is really nice it feel creamy and non drying on the lips which is what i like it hardly feels like your wearing much on the lips. The colour if a blue toned purple and looks great on any skin tone.

The next lipstick i love is Dubonnet this is quite a deep red which is exactly why i love this. I have never been a very big fan of a blue toned or very bright red colour on the lips as i feel is just doesnt look very good with my complextion, but this red is perfect as its a lot deeper but still has the element of a red lip. Again the texture is great as it is also an amplified finish lipstick same as Up the amp. I just apply this on its own without a lip liner. If you dab a little of this on the lips and blend it with your fingers i find it can look great for a subtle look in the day time it alsmost looks a bit like a lip stain on the lips.

The last dark lipstick i have chosen is Rebel. I would describe this as being a dark raspberry colour when you first see it in the tube it looks a lot darker but when applied it is a deep raspberry colour but by applying more you can build up a darker vampish lip look. The texture of this lipstick is a little different from the other two as this is a satin finish. I feel is has a bit of a matte feel to it so i like to apply some lip conditioner underneath which canhelp this. This again can look great just dabbed on the lips for a less dramatic look. I did find that this lipstick does stain the lips slightly when removing it but i dont find this too much off a big deal.

All of these lipsticks look great paired with a winged liner look keeping the eyes quite simple. Great look for a night out!!

Laura Mericer Mineral Foundation

I finally decided to buy the laura mercier mineral foundation, ive been wanting to try it for a long time now as ive heard such good things about it. I was mainly looking for a foundation that is quick and easy to apply but still provided me with good coverage and this product did just that!!

The laura mercier website says that this is a finely milled powder composed completely of natural elements with 15 active amino acids to clear the skin of toxins, promote healthy skin cell growth and fight the aging process.
I love this foundation I apply it using either my Mac 187 brush or the real techniques buffing brush. Whats great about this foundation is that you can choose the coverage, applying a small amount with give a really nice natural finish but you can also build it up by applying more which is what i love. It has a really nice soft texture and it doesnt look powdery on the skin. Even though its a powder based product it does give you a subtle dewy look as the day goes on but people with oily skin dont let that put you off!! I have combination skin and on days where my skin is a little more oily this still works great!! I have it in the colour real sand which is a perfect match for me there are a variety of colours to choose from. I would definately reccomend going to your nearest counter and trying this product out! It is a little bit pricey i think around £31 but it lasts ages and is worth it! Its great for those days when you dont really have time to sit and do your makeup be ause its so quick and easy to apply. I cant say enough good things about it!!
